Sathyan Anthikad is Malayalam movie director who is known for his family based themes. He was born in 1954 in Anthikad of Thrissur. He made his entry into film industry as an assistant director to Dr. Balakrishnan in Rekha Cine Arts in 1973. His directorial debut is ‘Kurukkante Kalyanam’.

Nadodikkattu, Pappan Priyappetta Pappan, T. P. Balagopalan M.A., Sandesam, Thalayana Manthram, Veendum Chila Veettukaryangal, Manassinakkare, Rasatanthram and Njan Prakashan are some of his super hit movies. He also wrote lyrics for movies including Kurukkante Kalyanam, Aarathi and Thooval Kottaram.

His noted books include Athmavinte Adikkurippukal, Bhagyadevatha and Snehaveedu. He has won many awards including National Film Award for best feature film in Malayalam for the movie Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal and Kerala State Film Awards for best screenplay and best story.
