Bhubaneswar (Odisha): Femina Miss India 2026 concluded its 61st edition with Goa’s Sadhvi Satish Sail being crowned Femina Miss India World 2026 at a grand finale held in Bhubaneswar.

An emotional Sail described her win as “surreal” and expressed gratitude for the experience, calling the journey one of collective growth and friendship.

“It feels very surreal right now. I am so, so grateful that we had this opportunity,” she said, adding that all contestants were “winners” in her eyes.

She highlighted the strong bond among participants, noting that the competition went beyond rivalry and focused on shared learning and support. “For me, all my friends are winners today. We just want to make India proud across the world,” she said.

Reflecting on her journey, Sail acknowledged challenges along the way but credited organisers and mentors for their support, including KIIT University and the Femina organisation.

She said the pageant has given her a platform to represent India internationally, adding that her goal is to carry forward the responsibility with honesty, integrity and compassion. “There is a long journey ahead. This is just the beginning,” she said.

Sail also urged young aspirants to focus on authenticity and self-belief. She revealed that her preparation began just three months before the competition and encouraged others not to compare themselves with others. “Your authenticity is your biggest strength,” she said.

Rajnandini Pawar from Maharashtra was crowned first runner-up, describing her experience as “extremely beautiful” and emotionally rewarding.

She said perseverance and determination were key to her journey, adding, “If you truly desire something, the universe works to help you achieve it.”

The finale was attended by prominent jury members and guests who praised the scale of the pageant and the diversity of contestants representing different states across India.

Choreographer Terence Lewis said the competition goes beyond beauty, emphasising personality, poise and stage presence as defining qualities of a winner.

He also praised Bhubaneswar as a host city, highlighting its cultural identity and simplicity.

Actor and dancer Lauren Gottlieb, attending the event for the first time in the city, said she looked forward to exploring its temples, beaches and local cuisine, while encouraging contestants to perform with confidence and self-belief.

Organisers also showcased initiatives blending traditional Indian handloom with global fashion concepts, reinforcing the importance of preserving cultural heritage while embracing modern design.

Participants and guests said Femina Miss India 2026 is more than a competition, describing it as a platform for empowerment, transformation and self-discovery that celebrates intelligence, individuality and cultural identity alongside beauty.
