The PM Internship Scheme 2025 offers 1.25 lakh internships to youth aged 18-24 (with relaxations for SC/ST/OBC) from non-premier institutions and low-income families

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs will soon begin the registration process for the PM Internship Scheme 2025. This initiative aims to provide valuable internship opportunities to young people across India, particularly those from non-premier institutions and low-income households.
Objective of the scheme
As the official notification states, “An internship, for the purpose of this scheme, is envisaged as an arrangement between the intern and the company, wherein the company offers training and real-world experience. The goal is to equip interns with practical skills and industry exposure, helping bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements, in turn, assisting enhancement of her/his employability.”
How to register for the PM Internship scheme 2025
- Visit the official website: pminternship.mca.gov.in
- Click on the "Register" button on the homepage
- You will be directed to a new registration page
- Fill in the required details in the registration form and submit
- The system will generate a resume based on the information provided
- Apply for up to 5 internship roles based on your preferences (location, sector, role, qualification)
- Save your application for future reference
Eligibility criteria
Educational qualification
- Completed 10th, 12th, ITI, Polytechnic, or Diploma
- Fresh graduates from non-premier institutes are eligible
- For ITI: Matriculation + relevant trade certificate
- For Diploma: 12th + diploma from an AICTE-recognised institution
- For Degree: Bachelor’s degree from a UGC/AICTE-recognised university
Age: Between 18 and 24 years
(Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates)
Benefits of the scheme
- Monthly stipend of ₹5,000
- One-time support of ₹6,000 for incidental expenses
- Real-time exposure to workplace environments in reputed companies
- Insurance coverage under existing government schemes
Shortlisting and selection process
- Candidates are shortlisted based on their submitted preferences and the requirements of participating companies
- Priority will be given to candidates from under-represented communities, including SC, ST, OBC, and persons with Disabilities (PwD)
- Companies will receive 2–3 times more applications than the available internship slots
- After reviewing resumes and applications, companies will send internship offers through the online portal
- Selected candidates can accept the offer directly through the portal
Scheme goals
The PM Internship Scheme 2025 targets to benefit 1.25 lakh youth during its pilot phase. Over the next five years, the goal is to reach one crore young individuals, especially those from economically weaker backgrounds.
