South Korean Mukbang YouTuber Tzuyang reveals her income, massive food expenses, and secret to staying slim.

South Korean YouTuber Tzuyang has made global headlines with her extraordinary eating skills and equally surprising physique. Known for her mukbang (binge-eating broadcast) videos, she boasts over 12 million subscribers and has become a household name in the world of online food content.
Who is she?
Tzuyang, whose real name is Park Jeong-won, is a 27-year-old content creator who rose to fame through her mukbang videos, a genre that involves creators eating massive quantities of food on camera. Her channel, v-tzuyang, has gained immense popularity thanks to her ability to consume incredible amounts of food while maintaining a calm, friendly on-screen presence.
Despite her petite frame and youthful appearance, Tzuyang is a powerhouse in the Korean content space. She began her mukbang career while still in university and quickly found success, though her personal journey behind the camera has been far from easy.
Inside her paycheck
Tzuyang’s popularity has translated into serious financial success. According to Koreaboo, during a recent appearance on MBC’s Radio Star, she opened up about her income, after co-host Kim Gura, himself a former golf content creator, mentioned his own YouTube earnings.
“I also had a good run during my golf content days. Back then, I made around ₩30.0 million KRW (about $21,500 USD) to ₩40.0 million KRW (about $28,700 USD) per month,” Kim Gura revealed.
When asked about her own earnings, Tzuyang said, “If you estimate my channel earnings at ₩100 million KRW (about $71,800 USD) a month, there were times in the past when I made much more than that. But there are times when I earn much less. The more that comes in, the more that goes out. I have a lot of employees, and I run a restaurant too, so the food costs are huge. The actual profits aren’t as high as people might think.”
How much does she spend on food?
It’s no surprise that someone whose job revolves around food would have hefty grocery bills, but Tzuyang’s numbers still stunned viewers. On the Radio Star episode, she said, “Except when I’m sleeping, I’m never on an empty stomach. I’m always eating and digesting.”
She then disclosed that she spent ₩43.0 million KRW (about $30,900 USD) in just one year on a single food delivery app. On average, she said, “I spend about ₩10.0 million KRW (about $7,190 USD) a month on food.”
Her secret to staying slim
Many fans have long wondered how someone who eats so much manages to remain slim. In a recent vlog titled “Eats 20 Packs of Ramen?! How Big Is a Mukbang YouTuber’s Stomach and Is Their Health Okay?!”, she documented a hospital visit for a full health check, including a gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
After fasting for 38 hours for the test, Tzuyang learned that her digestive system is significantly different from the average person’s.
“Compared to other women of a similar build, your stomach is a bit larger. As a professional, I can tell your stomach volume is slightly bigger than average. It appears to be 30 to 40 percent larger,” the doctor explained. “This likely means your absorption, digestion and elimination capabilities are more efficient than most.”
The doctor also noted, “Your body mass index is 17.5, which classifies you as underweight, yet your stomach is larger than that of most adult men... Your colon was also clean — no polyps, no inflammation.”
In terms of overall health, her blood sugar levels were described as “really excellent” despite her high food intake.
The dark side of Tzuyang’s fame
Tzuyang’s success has not shielded her from personal struggles. She became involved in a legal battle with controversial YouTuber Kim Se Ui and his channel Garo Sero Institute. In February 2025, Tzuyang filed a lawsuit accusing him of blackmail, coercion and violation of privacy. Although he repeatedly dodged police summons, a recent ruling by the Seoul High Court sided with Tzuyang, ordering the YouTuber to pay ₩10 million KRW (about $7,200 USD) per video if he uploads content about her in the future.
The court found that the channel had used private audio recordings involving other YouTubers allegedly plotting to blackmail her. In response, Tzuyang went live and revealed deeply personal details, including being a victim of abuse by her former boyfriend, who was also the CEO of her agency.
“I tried to break up because he showed violent behavior, but he threatened to distribute an illegal video he had taken of me, so I couldn't leave him,” she said during the livestream, as translated by Korea Times.
She revealed that he assaulted her, forced her to work in a bar, and defrauded her of ₩4 billion KRW (approximately $3.1 million USD) by misappropriating her broadcast earnings. Although she eventually filed legal charges, the case was dropped after his death.
“Even though I earned some money from the broadcasts, he took all of it, leaving me without enough money to buy even a chicken meal,” she said.
