Akshaya Tritiya 2026 will be observed on April 19, with key muhurats for puja, gold buying and new beginnings.

New Delhi: Akshaya Tritiya, one of the most auspicious days in the Hindu calendar, will be observed on April 19, 2026, according to the Drik Panchang.
The festival, celebrated on the Tritiya tithi of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Vaishakh, is considered an “Abujh Muhurat”, allowing devotees to undertake holy activities without consulting a detailed Panchang.
This year, confusion arose as the Tritiya tithi spans two days. However, the most auspicious period falls on April 19, when the tithi begins at 10:49 AM and continues until 07:27 AM on April 20.
The puja muhurat on April 19 is between 10:49 AM and 12:20 PM, lasting for 1 hour and 32 minutes. Devotees traditionally worship Lord Vishnu in his Lakshmi-Narayan form and Lord Kubera on this day, seeking prosperity and wealth.
Akshaya Tritiya is also considered highly favourable for buying gold, silver, and other valuables.
The shopping muhurat begins at 10:49 AM on April 19 and extends till 05:51 AM on April 20, offering a wide window of over 19 hours.
Key auspicious time slots include:
- Morning (Char, Labh, Amrit): 10:49 AM to 12:20 PM
- Afternoon (Shubh): 01:58 PM to 03:35 PM
- Evening (Shubh, Amrit, Char): 06:49 PM to 10:57 PM
- Night (Labh): 01:43 AM to 03:05 AM (April 20)
- Early morning (Shubh): 04:28 AM to 05:51 AM (April 20)
For those planning purchases on April 20, a shorter but auspicious window is available from 05:51 AM to 07:27 AM.
Astrologically, the day is further strengthened by multiple auspicious yogas, including Swati and Vishakha Nakshatra, along with Brahma, Indra, Gajakesari, and Malavya Rajyoga. Additionally, Ravi Yoga will occur on April 20 between 04:35 AM and 05:51 AM, enhancing the day’s spiritual significance.
Akshaya Tritiya holds immense importance in Hindu tradition as one of the “three and a half” most lucky muhurats of the year.
It is considered ideal for major life events such as weddings, housewarming ceremonies, mundan, and other sanskar rituals.
The term “Akshaya” signifies something that never diminishes. It is believed that any good deed, charity, or investment made on this day brings lasting prosperity and divine blessings, especially from Goddess Lakshmi.
