Thiruvananthapuram: The open-roof double-decker electric bus that took tourists on a leisure trip around Thiruvananthapuram city will now be available for tourists at a higher price. KSRTC has increased the bus fare for the upper deck seats to Rs. 200, which was initially charged at Rs. 100. The double increase in price was conveyed along with the introduction of an online ticket booking service.
Few months ago, the city sightseeing service around the capital city was introduced as an electric double-decker service. The bus service that covered Kizhakke Kotta, Secretariat, Legislative Assembly Museum, Shangumugham, Lulu Mall and Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple attracted tourists in a short span of time. The massive demand included people, including tourists from nearby districts and students.
Considering the surge in passenger count, KSRTC decided to make ticket booking online and increase tickets for upper decks. The bus currently has 65 seats collectively on both floors. Though the ticket price for the upper deck has increased, Rs. 100 will still be charged for the lower deck seats.
These electric open-roof double-decker services are available at hourly intervals from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM every day. Passengers can book tickets online through www.onlineksrtcswift website or ente ksrtc neo oprs mobile app.
