Latpanchar, a part of Mahananda wildlife sanctuary near Darjeeling, is an abode for rare species of adorable birds. It is a safe haven for a plethora of migratory birds from the Himalayas which spend at least four months here.

Birders from all over India flock to this dazzling spot to catch the sight of the scarce occasion.

MV Ajithkumar, who is a wildlife photographer from Kochi, opined that some rare flycatchers could be captured on cameras this season.

The trekking paths in the hilly areas meander and go up. The guides could spot these colourful birds easily.

The possibilities of tourism are slowly surging in this beautiful village hamlet. Facilities for lodging are available at a very reasonable rate for the visitors.
