Kochi: A group of international cruise travellers will reach Kochi on November 29 to render a new spirit to Kerala’s tourism sector. The state’s cruise tourism industry will turn agile again after the pandemic when the cruise ship ‘Europa’ docks on the Kochi coast.
Kochi harbour is all set to bestow a warm welcome to the tourists and expects more travellers for Muziris- Biennale, which will be held in December this year.
Mumbai- Goa- Mangaluru- Kochi- Phuket is the travel route of cruise Europa. It is learnt that at least 20 cruise ships will reach Kochi this financial year. Apart from this, 11 domestic cruise ships will also reach Kochi during this period. The cruise companies have initiated bookings already.
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways have informed that the concession in tariff rates granted for the international cruise companies in view of Covid 19 has been extended to September 2023.
