Nothing will unveil Phone 3 and Headphone 1 on July 1, with KEF partnership for premium sound

London-based smartphone company Nothing confirmed that it will unveil two new products—the Nothing Phone 3 and its first over-ear headphones—on July 1. The event is scheduled to begin at 6:00 PM BST (10:30 pm IST).
CEO Carl Pei shared the announcement during his talk at SXSW London on Thursday, where he spoke about Nothing’s evolution, the future of smartphones, and the influential role played by the Nothing community in shaping its products.
The over-ear headphones, named Headphone 1, mark the company’s first entry into the premium audio space. Nothing has collaborated with British audio specialist KEF to bring the product to life. The partnership is intended to harness KEF’s long-standing acoustic engineering experience to enhance the sound quality of Nothing’s audio offerings.
Nothing CEO Carl Pei wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter) “Headphone (1) will be sick!”
The Headphone 1 is expected to directly challenge established high-end models such as Apple’s AirPods Max. Early indications suggest that Nothing is aiming to offer high-resolution audio, noise cancellation, and a refined build—all designed to appeal to users looking for superior sound quality and comfort.
Details on the full extent of KEF’s involvement or the technologies being integrated into the Headphone 1 have yet to be disclosed. However, the collaboration clearly underlines Nothing’s ambition to be recognised as a serious contender in the audio segment.
The Nothing Phone (3) is expected to be the brand’s flagship smartphone. Reports indicate the device could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. If confirmed, the phone will offer top-tier performance suited for demanding apps and next-generation AI features.
This represents a substantial upgrade from its predecessors, positioning the Phone 3 as a flagship-level offering from the company. The Phone 3 is expected to be priced at around $799 (approx. ₹68,259) for the 12GB/256GB variant and $899 (approx. ₹76,802) for the 16GB/512GB model.
