Dr Raju Narayana Swamy, IAS, widely hailed as Kerala’s anti-corruption crusader, has been honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Savita Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences (SIMATS), Chennai. SIMATS, a multi-disciplinary institution deemed to be a university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, holds NAAC A++ accreditation and ranks 13th among all Indian universities, including Central and State institutions, in the NIRF 2025 rankings by the Ministry of Education.

Swamy received the award in recognition of his relentless fight against corruption. The 1991-batch IAS topper and current Principal Secretary to the Government of Kerala recently made headlines for serving as Central Observer for a record 38 duties with the Election Commission of India, including an assignment as International Observer in the 2018 Zimbabwe elections.

A technocrat and scholar, Swamy holds a B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Madras, an LLM from NLU Delhi, and a PhD in Law from Gujarat National Law University. He previously won the Leonardo da Vinci Fellowship (2021) from George Mason University for his research in intellectual property law, the Satyendra K. Dubey Memorial Award (2018) from IIT Kanpur for his anti-corruption work, and the Homi Bhabha Fellowship in cyber law.

Beyond his academic excellence, Swamy has been instrumental in implementing transformative initiatives in rural development, education, and health, using technology and transparency as tools for effective governance.
