New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch and lay the foundation of projects and schemes worth over ₹42,000 crore in the agriculture and allied sectors in New Delhi on Saturday.

PM Modi will unveil two major agriculture schemes with a combined outlay of ₹35,440 crore. This includes the PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana, allocated ₹24,000 crore, aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity, promoting crop diversification and sustainable farming practices, improving post-harvest storage at panchayat and block levels, boosting irrigation facilities, and facilitating long-term and short-term credit in 100 selected districts, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The Prime Minister will also launch the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses, with an outlay of ₹11,440 crore. The scheme is designed to increase pulse productivity, expand cultivation areas, strengthen the procurement, storage and processing value chain, and reduce post-harvest losses.

In addition, PM Modi will inaugurate and dedicate projects worth over ₹5,450 crore across agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries and food processing sectors, and lay the foundation stone for projects valued at around ₹815 crore.

He will participate in a special Krishi programme at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in New Delhi, interacting with farmers before addressing a public gathering. The PMO said the programme highlights the Prime Minister’s commitment to farmer welfare, agricultural self-reliance and rural infrastructure, while promoting modern farming practices and celebrating achievements in farmer-centric initiatives.

Key projects being inaugurated include the Artificial Insemination Training Centres in Bengaluru and Jammu & Kashmir; Centres of Excellence at Amreli and Banas; an IVF Lab in Assam under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission; milk powder plants at Mehsana, Indore and Bhilwara; a fish feed plant under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana in Tezpur, Assam; and infrastructure for agro-processing clusters, integrated cold chains, and value addition.

Projects for which foundation stones will be laid include an Integrated Cold Chain and Value Addition Infrastructure (Irradiation) in Krishna, Andhra Pradesh; trout fisheries in Uttarakhand; an Integrated Aqua Park in Nagaland; a smart and integrated fishing harbour in Karaikal, Puducherry; and a state-of-the-art Integrated Aquapark in Hirakud, Odisha.

During the programme, the Prime Minister will meet farmers engaged in pulse cultivation who have benefited from government schemes supporting a value chain-based approach in agriculture, animal husbandry, and fisheries.
