New Delhi: Farmers across India are eagerly awaiting the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, with the official release anticipated in the first week of November 2025, just days before the Bihar Assembly elections scheduled for November 6 and 11. While early disbursements of the ₹2,000 payment have already been made to beneficiaries in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu & Kashmir, the nationwide rollout is yet to be completed.

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had released the installment for flood and landslide-affected farmers in September and October to provide early financial relief. However, the government is expected to adhere to the Model Code of Conduct in Bihar, delaying full payments until the code allows, but continuing payments for previously approved schemes.

The PM-KISAN scheme provides small and marginal farmers with an annual income support of ₹6,000, paid in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each, directly transferred to their bank accounts via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. Eligibility requires completion of eKYC and linking of bank accounts with Aadhaar cards.

With Bihar being a key state in the upcoming elections, the timing of the installment has become politically significant, as it is seen as a critical support measure for farmers, many of whom form a substantial voter base in the state.

Beneficiaries who have completed all formalities are advised to stay updated on official government announcements and check their payment status through the PM Kisan portal or respective state agriculture department channels.
