Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), has invited applications under the Indianoil Divyashakti Para-Sports Scholarship Scheme. 

Under the scheme, a total of 100 Scholarships shall be offered in two entry level categories - Para Scholars and Elite Para Scholars to budding para-athletes in the games identified. 

The identified Games and Number of Scholarships are as follows: (i) Archery (8) (ii) Athletics (20) (iii) Badminton (10) (iv) Boccia (4) (v) Cycling (4) (vi) Judo (4) (vii) Paracanoe (4) (viii) Paratriathlon (2) (ix) Powerlifting (4) (x) Rowing (4) (xi) Shooting (8) (xii) Swimming (6) (xiii) Table tennis (10) (xiv) Taekwondo (4) (xv) Wheelchair fencing (4) (xvi) Wheelchair tennis (4). 

The scholarships for each Game will be distributed equally among males and females. Scholarships will be awarded based on the available vacancies as detailed above. Vacancies if any due to lack of eligible candidates will be filled with eligible candidates in other Category or Sport.

Eligibility

Applicants must be at least 16 years old and must not be older than 28 years as of 14.11.2024.

Performance Criteria

(i) Elite Para Scholar: Applicant should have National ranking between 1-5 in the latest National Para Championship/ National Selection Para Tournaments in the category/classification applied for which should be listed in the upcoming Asian Para Games 2026 or Paralympics 2028 or should be a Member of Indian team in official International Para Championships/ Games/ Tournaments which should be listed in the upcoming Asian Para Games 2026 or Paralympics 2028, excluding medallists of Paralympics (ii) Para Scholar: Applicant should have a National ranking between 6-10 in the latest National Championship/ National Selection Tournaments in the category/classification applied for, which should be listed in the upcoming Asian Para Games 2026 or Paralympics 2028.

Duration of the Scholarship

The scholarship will be awarded for a maximum duration of 3 years. 

Renewal Criteria

After the first year, the athlete’s performance will be evaluated based on the eligibility criteria, and the scholarship will be renewed for the second year under the appropriate category (Elite/Scholar) that the athlete qualifies for. Renewal for the third year will depend on performance in the second year based on the same criteria. If the athlete does not meet the criteria at the end of the first or second year, the scholarship will be discontinued.

Stipend

Monthly Stipend/ Lump sum payable for 3 years will be Rs. 15000/- per month for Para Scholar and Rs. 20000/- per month for Elite Para Scholar. The sports scholarship player will not be entitled to draw any other scholarship /financial aid / stipend from any other source whatsoever for sporting activity.

Age Proof / Performance Certificates of shortlisted players shall be verified with originals at IOC’s designated offices on dates that will be informed to the shortlisted players subsequently. The players will be required to visit IOC’s designated offices at their own expenses.

Applications

Application can be submitted online at https://spandan.indianoil.co.in/sportsscp/, latest by 23.59 hrs on 14th December 2024. Applicants have to upload (i) Passport size photograph (ii) Age Proof Certificate (any one of matriculation certificate having Birth Date, school leaving certificate, birth certificate issued by Municipality/Gram Panchayat, Passport or Aadhar Card) (iii) Performance Certificate (Three Certificates of the highest Performance achieved may be attached – At least one Certificate is mandatory) while submitting online application within this time limit. 

The acknowledgement of the On-line Application Form and Final list of selected candidates will be conveyed by e-mail and SMS on the registered mobile of the candidate.
