Applications have been invited for the Felix Scholarship that enables outstanding students from India to pursue graduate studies in any subject at the University of Oxford and the University of Reading. 

The scholarships are administered by the partner universities, with the support of the Felix Trustees. More information on Felix Scholarship can be seen at https://www.felixscholarship.org/ 

The scholarship will cover 100% of course fees, a grant for living costs (around £18,300) and one return flight from India to the UK. Awards are made for the full duration of fee liability of the student for the agreed course.

Scholarship outcomes: Decisions are expected to be made by the end of May 2025. If applicant has not heard by this time, then it may be assumed that the application has been unsuccessful. 

Eligibility: To be an eligible applicant must be applying to start a new full-time Master's course or full-time DPhil course at Oxford. Applicant must not have previously studied a course at the same level as the course to which applicant is applying. Applicant must be unable to take up place at Oxford without financial assistance.

In addition, applicant must be a national of and ordinarily resident in India; Applicant must have a first-class undergraduate or master's degree from an Indian university; Applicant must not hold a degree from a university outside of India and applicant is expected to return to India after completing studies.

Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and financial need. Applicants who hold deferred offers to study are not eligible to be considered for the scholarship.

Application: There is no separate application process. To be considered for the scholarship, application is to be submitted for graduate study by the January deadline for the course. The applicable deadlines are available at https://www.ox.ac.uk/admissions/graduate/courses 

The details given in the ‘Nationality and ordinary residence’ section of the graduate application form will be used to assess nationality and country of ordinary residence. The details in the Qualifications section of the graduate application form will be used to determine applicant’s previous education institutions. 

To be eligible for consideration for this scholarship, applicants must be successful in being offered a place on their course after consideration of applications received by the January deadline for the course. Course applications which are held over after the December/January deadline to be re-evaluated against applications received by the March deadline or course applications which have been put on a waiting list are not eligible for scholarship consideration. 

Applicants who are shortlisted for the Indian scholarship may be asked to complete a short questionnaire before being invited for interview in India. 

Felix Scholarships at Reading University is available for study at Master’s level only. 

To be eligible for all the Felix Scholarships offered, one must be applying to start a full-time postgraduate degree at the University of Reading. Only those candidates who have been accepted for admission will be considered for short listing. Felix Scholarship deadline for Reading University is 30 January 2025 23:59(GMT). 

The scholarships cover tuition fees at the international rate and provide a stipend (maintenance grant) to cover living expenses (around £17,894). They also provide generous allowances for clothes, books and a return flight home. The awards are available (depending on eligibility) for up to three years.
