The UGC has officially blacklisted Rajeev Gandhi Institute in Alwar, warning that its degrees are fake and invalid for any government or higher education purposes.

Alwar/New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued an urgent public warning on Saturday, March 28, 2026, officially declaring the Rajeev Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (Alwar, Rajasthan) as a fake institution.
The regulator confirmed that the self-styled institute, located at Mansa Chowk, Bhiwadi, is not recognised under the UGC Act, 1956, and is strictly prohibited from awarding any undergraduate or postgraduate degrees.
Why you must avoid this institute
- Invalid degrees: Any degree issued by this institute is legally void and cannot be used for higher education or government jobs.
- No recognition: The institute is neither recognised under Section 2(f) nor Section 3 of the UGC Act.
- Career risk: The UGC warned that students enrolling here "may jeopardise their careers" and waste their time and money.
The UGC has identified 32 institutions operating across 12 states without legal authority this year.
