Kozhikode: Kerala Education Minister V Sivankutty on Sunday responded over the shortage of Plus One seats in Malabar districts and said that excess batches will be sanctioned in Malappuram. He made the remark while speaking to media persons in Kozhikode.
“A meeting chaired by the chief minister was convened the other day to discuss the matter. On the basis of the meeting, 14 Plus One batches have been shifted to Malappuram from other districts,” Sivankutty said.
The minister further added that the issue mainly needs to be resolved in Malappuram. “A total of 74,014 students have submitted their applications for admission. Of them, 51,643 have secured admissions. As many as 5190 and 2432 seats are vacant in the merit and management quota respectively,” he said.
