NTA invites applications for NTET 2025 to assess teaching aptitude in Indian medicine disciplines

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has invited applications for the National Teachers Eligibility Test (NTET)-2025 for postgraduates of the disciplines of Ayurveda, Siddha and Unani of the Indian system of medicine & homeopathy who desire to take up teaching profession.
The NTET is a test to assess teaching aptitude; communication skills; classroom management; teaching, training, and assessment technology; student psychology; andragogy; pedagogy; or such other as may be specified by the commissions from time to time.
The teachers’ eligibility shall be valid for a period of ten years from the date of qualifying for the National Teachers’ Eligibility Test for Indian System of Medicine/Homoeopathy. However, those who fail to join the teaching profession within a period of ten years or wish to join the teaching profession after a break of ten years or more after obtaining NTET eligibility have to qualify for the National Teachers’ Eligibility Test for Indian System of Medicine/Homoeopathy once again to join or rejoin the teaching profession.
Eligibility: Applicant should hold a postgraduate degree in a discipline recognized by the commissions or erstwhile Central Council for Indian System of Medicine/Central Council of Homoeopathy. Detailed eligibility requirements are given in the Information Bulletin at https://exams.nta.ac.in/NTET/
Structure of NTET: NTET- 2025 will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) Mode on 17 July (Thursday) 2025. Duration will be 120 minutes. The test paper will consist of 100 objective-type, multiple-choice questions (MCQs) from eight sections based on the units of the syllabus. The list of subjects and syllabus for NTET June 2025 are given at Appendix II of the Information Bulletin.
The question paper shall be in English & Hindi only. In case of any ambiguity in the translation/construction of a question in the exam, its English version shall be treated as final.
For each correct response, the candidate will get one mark. There will be no negative marking.
A candidate securing a minimum of 50% marks in NTET will be declared as qualified in the National Teachers’ Eligibility Test for Indian System of Medicine/Homoeopathy. The qualified candidates shall be issued an ‘NTET Certificate’ by the respective commission.
Application: Application can be submitted online at https://exams.nta.ac.in/NTET/ by 11.50 pm on 23 June 2025.
The examination fee is Rs. 4000/-. It is Rs. 3500/- for General-EWS/OBC-(NCL) and Rs. 3000/- for SC/ST/PwD/PwBD/Third Gender. The examination fee can be paid latest by 11.50 pm on 24 June 2025 using debit/credit cards, net banking, or UPI.
Correction of particulars of the application form on the website can only be done from 25 June 2025 to 11.50 pm on 27 June 2025. The candidates should undertake the correction(s) carefully, as no further chance of correction will be given.
Intimations related to advance city intimation, downloading of admit cards, timing of examination, etc., will be made available on the website at appropriate times.
Role of NTA: The role of NTA is confined to the registration of candidates, the conduct of the test, the hosting of answer keys, inviting challenges, finalizing answer keys, preparing and declaring results, and hosting scorecards.
