Thiruvananthapuram: The Director of General Education has issued a circular clarifying that Saturdays will not be designated as school working days until the Kerala High Court makes a final decision on the matter. This clarification follows a recent High Court ruling that overturned an earlier order, which designated 25 Saturdays as working days to ensure a total of 220 school days in the 2024 academic year.
Minister V. Sivankutty stated that the government will not appeal against the High Court’s verdict. However, the government has yet to make an official decision on the matter.
