
New Delhi: In a remarkable achievement for Kerala, 16 of the top 100 colleges in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings for higher education institutions are located in the state. This impressive feat highlights Kerala's growing prominence in the national education landscape.
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras retained the top spot for the sixth time in a row in the overall ranking list of higher education institutions.
The MG University secured the eleventh rank in the ranking list of the state public universities. Calicut University emerged 43rd in the list.
The University of Kerala is ranked 21st in the national ranking of the best universities in the country, including Central Universities. Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) came 34, MG University secured 37th position and Calicut University secured 89th position.
In this list IISC Bengaluru is in the top position. Jawaharlal Nehru in Delhi came second and Jamia Millia Islamia University third.
Sri Chitra Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology is ranked 13th in the list of best medical institutes. Thiruvananthapuram Govt Medical College is ranked 42nd.
After IIT Madras in the overall ranking, IISC Bengaluru is second and IIT Mumbai and IIT Delhi, third and fourth respectively. The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi is ranked seventh in the list.
The NIRF has classified higher education institutions into six groups
Including the overall rank. Unlike previous years, three categories such as state public universities, open universities and skill universities have been included in this year's list.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan presented awards to the top three ranked institutions in all categories at a function held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi on Monday.
Director Prasad Krishna for NIT Kozhikode and Dean Deepa Sethi for IIM Kozhikode received the awards.
