The National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI), B-901, 9th Floor Tower B, World Trade Centre, Nauroji Nagar, New Delhi-110029, a not-for-profit organisation under the aegis of the Ministry of Electronics & IT, has invited applications for the NIXI Internet Governance Internship and Capacity Building Scheme.

The programme aims to build knowledge and skills in Internet governance, digital infrastructure, and related policy frameworks, while also providing global opportunities for learning and exposure.

Eligibility: Applicant should be an Indian national who has completed B.E./B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech/Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication, or a U.G./P.G./Ph.D. in Public Policy/Law. Those pursuing the final year of the eligible courses can also apply.

Applicant should have a strong academic record, research abilities, and excellent written & verbal communication skills.

The internship program will be conducted over a period of six months, January/February to June/July or for a period of 3 months between January/February and April/May. Each scheme offers 10 internship opportunities.

Under the scheme, all the interns will have to be compulsorily present in the office. The selected applicant should be available to commit to a full-time internship for a duration of 6 months/3 months. A consolidated stipend of Rs. 20,000/- per month (regular offline internship) will be provided to the intern.

On completion of a 6-month engagement successfully, these interns shall be certified as NIXI Internet Influencers and will be eligible to conduct awareness programs in educational institutes in the country. These interns need to conduct at least six awareness programs in one year to be eligible to remain Internet Influencers. The awareness program will be eligible for financial benefits on the same terms and conditions as being awarded to regular interns. NIXI will maintain a list of such interns on its Website. In case the Internet Influencers are not able to conduct at least six awareness programs, their status as Internet Influencers shall be withdrawn. Only Internet Influencers shall be eligible for getting benefits under this scheme.

Selected applicants based on their applications will be called for a personal interview.

After completion of the internship period, a work diary on the effect that the assigned work has been successfully completed by the intern is required to be submitted by the intern concerned. The said work diary has to be signed by the concerned officer/department under which the interns worked.

On successful completion of the internship, the intern will be awarded a certificate.
