Thiruvananthapuram: Taking a cue from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council's review system, the Kerala State Higher Education Council (KSHEC) is planning to introduce a new ranking system for higher education institutions across the state.
KSHEC in this regard has already initiated a guiding session for principals and coordinators of the Internal Quality Assurance Cells (IQACs).
Vice president of KSHEC, Dr Rajan Gurukkal presided over the council meeting.
Universities, government-aided colleges, and self-financing colleges will be assessed. The plan is to complete the first phase by the end of this year.
The notification regarding the roll-out of the ranking system will be issued in July. A window of 2 months will be provided to the colleges for submitting the details.
The council has also a plan to honour institutes achieving higher positions. It is learnt that the council has already approached the government to constitute the framework for the same in the model of the Chancellor’s Award.
