Kerala government plans to digitise university exams for UG & PG courses, aligning with digital-native Gen Z students and boosting real-world experience via internship portals.

Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: Kerala’s Higher Education Minister, Dr R Bindu, announced in the State Assembly that the government is actively moving to digitise university-level examinations, covering both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
She said that the state has already moved entrance exams completely online, and similar steps will now be taken for other university examinations as well.
In response to questions raised by MLAs PP Sumod, Daleema, KM Sachin Dev, VK Prasanth, and Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, the minister explained that today’s students, called Gen Z, have grown up using digital tools and smartphones, so it’s important to move exams to a digital format.
To help students gain real-world experience, the government has also set up internship portals, which will allow students to apply for internships within India and abroad.
Addressing concerns raised in the Assembly, Minister Bindu clarified that those serving as acting principals in universities are also qualified. She assured that there is no need for concern.
