The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2026 admit card is expected to be released today by IIT Guwahati

The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, the organising institute for GATE 2026, is expected to release the admit card for the national-level engineering entrance examination today on the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in. Once issued, candidates will be able to download the GATE 2026 exam hall ticket by logging into the GOAPS portal using their enrolment ID and password or via OTP sent to their registered mobile number.
The admit card is a mandatory document for appearing in the examination and will contain essential details such as the candidate’s name, enrolment ID, exam paper code, examination date and time, exam centre address and category. Candidates must carry a printed copy of the admit card along with a valid original photo identity proof, including Aadhaar card, passport, PAN card, voter ID or driving licence, to the examination centre.

The GATE 2026 examination will be conducted by IIT Guwahati on February 7, 8, 14 and 15, 2026, in two shifts each day. The forenoon session will be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, while the afternoon session will take place from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The exam will cover multiple disciplines, including Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering and newly introduced sections such as Energy Science.
According to the official schedule, the GATE 2026 results are expected to be declared tentatively on March 19. The GATE score will remain valid for three years from the date of result announcement and can be used for admissions to MTech, MS and PhD programmes at IITs, NITs, central universities and other participating institutions, as well as for recruitment by public sector undertakings (PSUs).
Candidates are advised to carefully verify all details mentioned on the admit card after downloading it and immediately report any discrepancies to the authorities. IIT Guwahati has also made mock tests and previous years’ question papers available on the official website to help candidates familiarise themselves with the exam pattern and difficulty level. Regular monitoring of the official portal is recommended for the latest announcements regarding the admit card and examination guidelines.
