Defence Geoinformatics Research Establishment (DGRE), Him Parisar, Sector 37-A Chandigarh, Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), Ministry of Defence Government of India have announced a paid internship for engineering/science UG & PG students (Indian citizens) with excellent academic records. DGRE is one of the premier laboratories of DRDO.

Internships are classified into 2 categories.

Category (a): Undergraduate internships are for students pursuing B.Tech who have internships as part of their degree courses. There are 2 vacancies in the branch Computer Science & Engineering branch and one vacancy in the Civil Engineering branch.

Category (b): Post-Graduate Internship is for students pursuing 2nd year M.Sc./M.Tech who have an internship as a part of their degree courses. There are 2 vacancies in the branch/discipline of remote sensing/geoinformatics.

Applicants should be pursuing graduation/post-graduation in engineering/science, a full-time course in the respective discipline from a recognized Indian university/institute with a minimum of 75% marks/7.5 CGPA. The principal/HOD/TPO of the institution should send a request letter for a paid internship for their highly deserving meritorious students only.

Age Limit: Applicant should be below 28 years of age.

The duration of all internships will be 6 months, and the monthly stipend will be Rs. 5,000/-. The location of the internship will be DGRE, Plot No. 01, Sector 37-A, Chandigarh

Eligible students will be selected based on CGPA of all previous semesters/percentage of marks of all previous semesters/years and online/telephonic interview/interaction as required, subject to satisfactory verification of the documents. Selected students will only be notified about the joining procedures through email to the email ID of the student mentioned in the application form.

The student will be required to submit a progress report after 3 months and a project report after 6 months/completion of the training.

The stipend for the internship for a period of 06 months is applicable only when the student is present at the lab for a minimum of 15 working days per month. Payment will be made in two installments; the first installment will be paid after 03 months of internship, and the second installment will be paid after completion of 06 months of internship. The stipend will be paid directly to the bank account of the student.

Award of certificate: DGRE will issue a certificate to the student after successful completion of the project and submission of the report. Successful completion of the internship includes clearing the evaluation of project work, submission of the project report, and completion of other formalities. If the student is unable to complete the internship and leaves in between, then a Certificate of Completion will not be issued to such students, and no payment will be made.

Application: Applications in the prescribed format are to be sent to ‘The Director, Defence Geoinformatics Research Establishment (DGRE), Defence R&D Organization, Sector-37A, Chandigarh 160036’, by Speed Post, clearly mentioning “Application for Paid Internship: Starting January 2026” “Branch Code ……” on top of the envelope. Last date for receipt of application 15th December, 2025.

No boarding or lodging expenses are admissible.

Intimation will be given to selected students in the last week of December 2025.

Internships start on 1st January, 2026.
