Patna: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) is expected to declare the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2025 results today, January 5 (Monday), ending months of anticipation for thousands of teaching aspirants across the state. While the Board has not issued a formal notification confirming the exact time, media reports indicate that the results are likely to be announced today.

Once released, candidates will be able to check and download their scorecards from the official websites.

When and how the exam was held

The Bihar STET 2025 was conducted in October and November through computer-based test (CBT) mode at designated centres across Bihar. The exam was held to determine eligibility for teaching posts in government schools for classes 9 to 12.

The test included two levels:

Paper I for Secondary teachers (classes 9 and 10)

Paper II for Senior Secondary teachers (classes 11 and 12)

Answer key and objection process completed

BSEB released the provisional answer key on November 24, 2025. On the same day, the Board opened the objection window, allowing candidates to raise concerns over discrepancies. The objection process concluded on November 28, clearing the way for the final result declaration.

Where and how to check Bihar STET 2025 result

Candidates can access their results only through authorised portals:

  • bsebstet.org
  • bihar-stet.com

To check the result, candidates must click on the ‘Bihar STET Result 2025 Scorecard’ link, enter their application number and date of birth (or password), submit the details, and download the scorecard PDF. The Board has not authorised any other platforms.

Cut-off marks and score normalisation

BSEB has fixed category-wise minimum qualifying marks:

  • General: 50%
  • Backward Classes: 45.5%
  • Extremely Backward Classes: 42.5%
  • SC/ST/Divyang/Women: 40%

As the exam was conducted over multiple shifts, a statistical normalisation process was applied to ensure fairness and account for variations in difficulty levels.

Lifetime validity and recruitment relevance

Candidates who qualify will receive a Bihar STET eligibility certificate with lifetime validity, removing the need for repeat testing. The certificate is mandatory for applying to future teacher recruitment drives in Bihar, including those conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC).

With January 5 emerging as the expected date, the long wait for Bihar’s teacher aspirants may finally be nearing its end.
