Kasaragod: The All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) has decided to include Hindi and other regional languages in its learning and teaching processes. The initiative is termed as AICTE-VAANI (Vibrant Advocacy For Advancement and Nurturing of Indian Languages).

The languages will be put in use for research thesis purposes as well. With the aim of implementing the project, conferences, seminars and workshops will be held in selected universities. A funding of Rs 2 crores has been sanctioned for conducting 100 such programs in every academic year. 

The languages in the fray include Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Bengali, Assamese, Odia and Urdu. 12 seminars will be conducted in Hindi and eight seminars will be conducted in each of the other languages. The seminars will cover topics ranging from Advanced Materials to Agrotech and Food Processing.
