Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Azad Bhavan, I.P. Estate, New Delhi -110002, has invited applications for Empanelment of Teachers to be deployed abroad by ICCR.

Indian nationals will be empanelled as Teacher of Indian Culture -Yoga, Performing Arts (in the disciplines of Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Carnatic Vocal, Hindustani Vocal and Tabla) and Hindi Teachers for deployment at Indian Embassies/ Consulates/ Cultural Centres abroad on a short-term contract basis.

Teachers of Indian Culture (Yoga) and Performing Arts are expected to play a vital role in promoting Indian culture overseas through Yoga, Dance, Music and language classes conducted at Cultural Centres/ Missions/Posts for foreign nationals and the Indian diaspora. These teachers also undertake outreach activities in various foreign organisations, Universities, Schools, and colleges, thereby promoting Indian culture at a wider level.

Those empanelled will be deployed anywhere in the world in Asia, Africa, the Caribbean, Europe, Central America and North America as and when the requirement arises.

The assignment will be for a fixed period of 2 years and will be subject to the provisions of the Agreement to be executed by the Teacher with the Council in the prescribed form at the time of appointment.

Typed applications in English on A4 size paper as per the prescribed format with copies of relevant certificates may be sent to the office of the ‘Programme Director (ICC), Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Azad Bhavan, I.P. Estate, New Delhi – 110002’, and to the email id: iccsection.iccr@nic.in to reach by January 18, 2026.

Those who have already served abroad on ICCR’s assignment are welcome to apply, but preference will be given to first-time applicants. Those who have been repatriated/ recalled/blacklisted from their assignments are not eligible to apply.

Selection of candidates will be the prerogative of ICCR, and no queries will be entertained in this regard.

Applications received by the Council will be scrutinised, and only shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews/ demonstrations. Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview and performance test at (i) ICCR, Azad Bhavan, New Delhi, (ii) Kolkata, (iii) Bengaluru and (iv) Mumbai/Pune, for which no TA/DA will be paid.

Names of candidates selected by the Selection Committee will be included on a Panel of eligible Teachers from which names will be considered for vacant stations, as and when vacancies arise. If an empanelled candidate refuses to proceed to the assigned station, his/her name will be removed from the Panel, and he/she will not be posted abroad thereafter.

Only those who are willing to work in any country assigned may apply.

The Panel of selected candidates will remain valid for three years from the date of issuance of letters to the selected candidates.
