Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Mumbai, has invited applications for the Undergraduate Common Entrance Exam for Design (UCEED) for admission to the 4 years, Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) programme in IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Roorkee, Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM) Jabalpur and other result sharing institutes for 2025.

IIT Bombay also offers 5 years (ten-semester) dual degree BDes + MDes programme. The option of shifting to a dual degree programme is available at the end of their 3rd year. 

UCEED will be held from 9 am to 12 noon on January 19, 2025 (Sunday). It will have two parts: Part-A is computer-based and will have questions from Visualization and spatial reasoning; Practical and scientific knowledge; Observation and design sensitivity; Environment and society; Analytical and logical reasoning; Language and Creativity.  Part-B will have questions related to Drawing and Design aptitude. UCEED score is valid for one year and only for admissions in the same corresponding academic year. 

Eligibility: Applicant should have been born on or after October 1, 2000 (SC, ST or PwD category applicants born on or after October 1, 1995 are also eliigble). 

One can attempt UCEED a maximum of two times, and that too in consecutive years. 

Applicant should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2024 or 2025. Students from all streams (Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible to appear for UCEED 2025. The list of qualifying examinations is given in the Information Brochure. 

Application: Application can be submitted online at https://www.uceed.iitb.ac.in/2025/ latest by 11.55 pm on October 31, 2024. 

Registration fee: Registration fee is Rs. 2000/- for Female Candidates and SC, ST, PwD Candidates and Rs. 4000/- for all other candidates. Detailed instructions related to the payment of registration fee will be available on the online registration portal. 

Registration can be done with additional late fee of Rs.500/- till 5 pm on November 08, 2024.

Downloading Admit Card can be done from January 03, 2025 onwards.

Results are expected to be declared by March 07, 2025. Rank list will be prepared based on the total marks (Part-A marks and Part-B marks combined) in UCEED 2025. 

Only UCEED 2025 qualified students can apply for admission to the BDes programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur for the academic year 2025-2026. There will be a common application form for admissions to respective BDes programmes. The UCEED Office, IIT Bombay, will process the common application form and conduct the joint seat allocation process.
