New Delhi: The JEE Advanced 2025 office has released guidelines for students eligible to register under the Supreme Court’s directive in WP(C) Nos. 854/2024 and 17/2025. The decision impacts students who first appeared for their Class 12 exams in 2023 and later dropped out of their institutions within the specified period in November 2024.
These students can now register for JEE Advanced 2025 if they fulfill all other criteria mentioned in Clause 11 of the exam’s Information Brochure. However, to complete their registration, they must submit key documents, including:
- A withdrawal certificate from their institution, signed by the Head (Dean/Principal/Director), as per the prescribed format.
- A notarized affidavit on a ₹10 non-judicial stamp paper, either from the candidate (if 18 or older) or from a parent/legal guardian (if under 18).
- An official withdrawal letter or notification from the candidate’s college/university.
These requirements are outlined in Annexure VI of the JEE Advanced 2025 Information Brochure, available at https://jeeadv.ac.in/.
This decision provides a second chance to eligible students who had initially opted out of higher education but now wish to pursue IIT admissions through JEE Advanced 2025.
