Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), a statutory body established by an Act of Parliament, under the administrative control of Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt. of India, has notified the admission procedure for MBBS/BDS/BSc Nursing courses in ESIC Medical Education Institutions, for the wards of Insured Persons (IPs).
Seat availability: There are 554 seats available for wards of IPs in various Colleges as per the following details (a) MBBS (466 seats) at ESIC Medical Colleges at (i) Faridabad, Haryana (43 seats) (ii) Joka, Kolkata, West Bengal (65) (iii) K.K. Nagar, Chennai, Tamil Nadu (30) (iv) Rajajinagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka (68) (v) Gulbarga, Karnataka (68) (vi) Sanathnagar, Hyderabad (43) (vii) Alwar, Rajasthan (20) (viii) Bihta, Patna (35) and Government Medical Colleges at (i) Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu (20) (ii) Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Medical College, Ner Chowk, Mandi, Himachal Pradesh (36) and Kollam, Paripally, Kerala (38). (In case of the last three colleges, infrastructure of erstwhile proposed ESIC Colleges has been transferred to respective State Governments to establish and run these colleges) (b) BDS (28 seats)- ESIC Dental College, Gulbarga, Karnataka (28) (c) BSc Nursing (60 seats)- ESIC Nursing Colleges at (i) Indiranagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka (30) (ii) Gulbarga, Karnataka (30).
Available seats for each Program will be pooled on ‘All India Basis’ and allotted, amongst the wards of Insured persons (IPs). Reservation policy of the Central Government for SC / ST / OBC / PH / EWS etc. will be followed for allotment of seats. Candidates will be allotted seats, based on their ‘merit cum preference of Institution, through a centralized ‘on-line’ counseling to be conducted by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) for the ‘Seats allocated for wards of insured persons (IPs)’ as per schedule to be provided at https://mcc.nic.in.
Eligibility: Only a person who is ‘Insured Person’ as per the related Act, as on 30.09.2023 would be eligible for availing benefit under the ‘Seats allocated for wards of insured persons (IPs)’ for his /her child / children. The age of dependent male ‘Ward of IP’ for eligibility under these seats for 2024-25 should not be more than 21 years as on 10.04.2024. The said date would not apply to dependent unmarried female ‘Ward of IP’ as per provisions of the ESI Act, 1948.
Ward of IP should have applied for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) 2024 [NEET (UG)] and qualified in it. Minimum eligibility for admission will be as per MCC/ NTA/NEET/NMC/DCI/INC regulations. Applicants must have a valid ‘Ward of Insured Person Certificate’, issued by ESIC.
‘Ward of Insured Persons’ under ESI Scheme who meet the laid down eligibility criteria and have qualified NEET (UG) 2024 can apply for admission to the reserved seats in UG course (MBBS / BDS / BSc Nursing) in ESIC Medical / Dental / Nursing Colleges. Applicants will have to register at https://mcc.nic.in after the declaration of results of NEET UG 2024 and take part in the online allotment process.
Issue of ward of IP Certificate: Eligible applicants should apply online at www.esic.gov.in latest by 29th May, 2024 for the ‘Ward of IP certificate’ for 2024 -25 admissions.
After successful log-in, applicants are required to complete the form and upload all the required documents in the online application as given in the detailed Notification at https://www.esic.gov.in/admissions.
A system generated ‘Ward of IP Certificate’ will be available to download after approval of Competent Authority. Candidates can track the status [(i) Issued; or (ii) Rejected] of the certificate on the ESIC website using the username and password. In the event of issue, the certificate in PDF format would be visible to the candidate and printout can be taken after downloading the certificate. In the event of rejection, the reason would be displayed.
The last date for issue of ‘Ward of IP Certificate’ is 1.6.2024.
