National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (NIT-T) invites applications from eligible candidates for admission to Ph.D. Program for the academic year 2020-21 (July 2020 Session).

NIT-T offers full time and part time Ph.D. Program in all branches of Engineering (Chemical, Civil, Computer Science & Engineering, Energy and Environment, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Instrumentation and Control, Mechanical, Metallurgical and Materials, and Production), Architecture, Computer Applications, Management Studies, Science (Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics) and Humanities (English/Economics).

One can pursue Ph.D. as a Full Time-Stipendiary Category/Project Category/Non-Stipendiary Category or Part Time-External Category/on Campus Category.

Online Application can be submitted at http://admission.nitt.edu, latest by June 30, 2020.

The processing fee per department preference is Rs. 500/- for OC/OBC-NCL and Rs. 200/- for SC/ST/PwD applicants. If 3 department preferences are chosen, applicants have to pay 3 times the processing fee as per the category she/he belongs to. The fee payment should be made only through State Bank icollect mode.

Selection Procedure: For both categories, the mode and norms for selection shall be on par with those in force for full-time Ph.D. candidates. Following the scrutiny and short-listing of the applications, eligible candidates will be called to attend a written test. The candidates, short listed based on the written test performance need to appear for a technical and personal interview by the Departmental Research Committee comprising of HOD, all eligible Research Supervisors and the Dean’s nominee (observer).
