Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, has invited applications for admission to Master of Science and M.Sc. MLT Courses.

Master of Science Programmes are offered in (i) Biochemistry (ii) Medical Biotechnology (iii) Pharmacology (iv) Respiratory Care (v) Anatomy (vi) Anaesthesia (only sponsored) (vii) Medical Biophysics (viii) Master of Laboratory Technology (MLT) - Transfusion Medicine.  

Applications have also been invited for admission to M.Sc MLT Courses for Sponsored/Deputed Candidates only in (i) Cytopathology (ii) Immunopathology (iii) Biochemistry (iv) Bacteriology & Mycology (v) Virology (vi) Biotechnology (vii) Histopathology (viii) Haematology (ix) Parasitology (x) Pharmacology (xi) Radiotherapy (xii) Radiodiagnosis

Eligibility: Academic eligibility for admission to various courses is as follows:

M.Sc. (Biochemistry): B.Sc or B.Sc. (Hons.) or B.Sc (Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry taken together) with 55% (50% for SC/ST/OBC) marks.

M.Sc. (Medical Biotechnology): B.Sc. with 55% (50% for SC/ST/OBC) marks in any subject of Life/Biological Sciences or MBBS.

M.Sc. (Pharmacology): MBBS/equivalent or B.Sc (Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry taken together) or B.V.Sc. or B. Pharma.

M.Sc. (Respiratory Care): B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology/Nursing/Medical or Bachelor of Physiotherapy/equivalent degree with at least 55% marks.

M.Sc. (Anatomy): MBBS/BDS/B.V.Sc/B.Sc with Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry/B.Sc. Nursing/Bachelor of Physical Therapy with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC) or M.Sc. Physical Anthropology, Zoology or Human Biology with 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC)

M.Sc. (Medical Biophysics): MBBS/BDS/B.Pharma/B.PHT/B.Sc with at least one subject from Biological Sciences) securing 55% (50% for SC/ST) marks. Upper age limit will be 35 years.

M.Sc. MLT (Transfusion Medicine): B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology with at least 55% marks. Applicant should have 6 months of experience in the blood bank component laboratory post B.Sc. MLT.

Eligibility for M.Sc Programmes and MLT Programmes for Sponsored/Deputed applicants is given in the Prospectus.

Selection: Selection will be based on a Computer Based Test to be held from 9 am at Chandigarh (tricity) only, on 14 June 2020 (Sunday). It will be on 90 minutes duration for M.Sc. (Biochemistry), M.Sc. (Med. Biotechnology), M.Sc. (Pharmacology), M.Sc. (Anatomy) & (Medical Biophysics) courses and 60 minutes duration for other M.Sc/M.Sc. MLT courses. The scheme and syllabus of the test is given in the Prospectus that is available at the link provided in the Admission Notification available at ‘Information for candidates’ at www.pgimer.edu.in.

Application:  Online registration on can be done at www.pgimer.edu.in by 16 May 2020.

Application fee is Rs. 1500/- for General /OBC/Sponsored Category while it is Rs. 1200/- for SC/ST Category to be paid through Debit / Credit Card / Net Banking. Persons with Bench-mark Disabilities (PwBD) are exempted from payment of fee.

Result is expected to be declared on 20 June 2020. Tuition fee per annum is Rs.350/-.
