ICMR-National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) Hyderabad, Telangana - 500007, has invited applications for the NIN-Common Entrance Test (N-CET) 2023 for admission to the Two Year Post-Graduate courses- M.Sc. Applied Nutrition and M.Sc. Sports Nutrition for the academic session 2023-25.

The courses are affiliated to Osmania University Hyderabad, Telangana State.

The Programs aim to create scientifically trained human resources in the area of Applied Nutrition and Sports Science and to equip post-graduate students with knowledge and skills in the multi-disciplinary area of Applied Nutrition and Sports Nutrition, thereby enabling them to contribute in the field of clinical and/or public health nutrition and/or sports nutrition.

Eligibility: (Common for both Applied Nutrition & Sports Nutrition): MBBS or B.Sc with any one of Nutrition/Food & Nutrition/Applied Nutrition/Nutrition & Dietetics or Home Science/Food Science/Biochemistry/Zoology or Applied Nutrition & Public Health or Clinical Nutrition & Dietetics or Food Science and Quality Control as full paper in all the 3/4 years / all Semesters. 
In additions, those with B.Sc. Nursing can apply for Applied Nutrition and those with B.Sc with Life Sciences (Botany, Genetics, Microbiology)/ Physiology/ Sports Science in all the 3/4 years / all Semesters can apply for Sports Nutrition. 

Selection: Admission to the Programs will be based on a computer-based Entrance Test of 90 minutes’ duration to be conducted from 2.30 pm to 4 pm on 5th August 2023 (Saturday) at Hyderabad, New Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata (tentative centres). The medium of the question paper will be English. The syllabus for the entrance examination is the basic understanding of nutrition, biochemistry and physiology taught at the graduation level, general knowledge &aptitude.

The Entrance Test will be for 100 marks. The test will have questions of 1 mark each from Nutrition (40 questions), Biochemistry (20), Physiology (20); General Knowledge and Aptitude (20). There will be negative marking of 1/3 mark for each incorrect answer.

A merit list will be prepared based on marks obtained in the Entrance Test. Date of declaration of results and of display of list of eligible candidates for counselling are to be announced on the website later.
