
Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala has re-opened the facility for option registration for the Third phase allotment to PG Medical Courses-2024.
Fresh option registration is compulsory for participating in the third phase. The options registered in the previous phases will not be considered for allotment in the 3rd phase. Candidates who have already registered options for third round allotment as per this office notification dated 08.01.2025 can add/delete/rearrange options if they wish to do so. In-Service candidates can also register their options. List of service quota candidates is published in the website. The vacant seats are also published in the website.
Candidates shall register options to any seats they wish to join if allotted, irrespective of the vacancy status notified as any vacancy that may arise during the counseling including those through applicable category conversions will also be filled based on these options. Additional seats sanctioned and the resultant incremental seat matrix approved by the Government in respect of KMCT Medical College, Kozhikkode and P K Das Medical College, Palakkad are also included for allotment in this phase. Additional seats sanctioned in Dr.Somervell Memorial CSI Medical College, Karakkonam and Al-Azhar Medical College, Thoudupuzha are provisionally included for allotment in this phase as the approval of the seat matrix is pending with the Government.
Admission cancellation: Those having admission can relinquish their seat without incurring any penalty till 5 pm on 02.02.2025. Those who vacate the seat after this cut off time will not be eligible to participate in the 3rd phase allotment and further rounds. Options, if any, registered by such candidates for the third phase allotment will be cancelled.
Option registration fee: All candidates who wish to participate in the third phase allotment have to pay option registration fee afresh. Option Registration Fee to be paid will be the amount equal to the annual tuition fee if Government Medical Colleges (including the RCC) only are to be opted or an amount of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakhs only) if Self Financing Colleges are to be opted. For SC/ST/OE and other candidates who are eligible for fee concession, the registration fee for Government /Pvt. Medical college seats will be half of the above amounts.
Schedule: All eligible candidates included in the Kerala State Merit list published by the CEE vide notification dated 27.01.2025 can register their options online at www.cee.kerala.gov.in before 5 pm on 03.02.2025. Third-phase allotment will be published on 05.02.2025. All candidates who get an allotment should join the course and college to which they are allotted along with the required documents and pay the fee at the colleges during 06.02.2025 to 4 pm on 09.02.2025.
If any candidate does not join the seat allotted in the third phase, the option registration fee will be forfeited and such candidates cannot participate in further allotments. If a candidate freshly registers in the third phase and is not allotted any seat, he/she is eligible to participate in the stray vacancy round. Candidates getting allotment in the third phase will not have any claim on the seats allotted earlier. Candidates getting allotment in the third phase will not be eligible to participate in the stray vacancy allotment, irrespective of the admission status at that time. Those candidates who are included in the list of ineligible candidates shared by the MCC after the third round AIQ allotment will not be considered for the third phase allotment.
The registration fee paid will be refunded to the eligible candidates after the end of counseling. The registration fee of those candidates who do not join the seat allotted will be treated as penalty and will not be refunded.
Penalty Conditions in Third Phase Allotment: A candidate allotted a seat in the 3rd phase or afterwards, of the State counselling, will be ineligible to participate in any further phases of the state counselling. Hence, candidates are advised to exercise due diligence in exercising their options and do not file unwanted options to seats in which they do not wish to pursue studies. The list of candidates admitted as on the last date of admission in the third phase will be forwarded to MCC as the list of candidates’ ineligible to participate in any further rounds of All India or State counselling.
Those candidates who vacate the allotted seat, after the cut-off date (5 pm of 02.02.2025) will not be considered for further rounds of counselling and action for imposition of penalty will be initiated against such candidates as per the Prospectus conditions. This condition is applicable to all the candidates who get admitted in a college based on an allotment in any of the phases (before or after the cut-off date) but the quitting of the seat taking place after the cut-off date.
Stray Vacancy Filling Phase: After the 3rd Phase allotment, if any vacancies exist or arise, those vacancies shall be filled through Stray vacancy allotment. There will be fresh option registration for Stray Vacancy filling phase. The net vacant seats due to unallotted/non joining of the third phase will be published. If vacancies exist even after an initial stray vacancy allotment and if there is sufficient time before the cut-off date for admissions prescribed by National Medical Commission, additional stray vacancy allotments may be conducted based on the options registered for the Stray vacancy filling round. If any candidate vacates a seat joined in Stray vacancy allotment or vacates a joined seat (joined in any of the previous phases also) after Stray vacancy allotment process, he/she will be liable to pay liquidated damages as per clause Clause 10.1.19 (4) of the Prospectus. Not joining the seat allotted in the stray vacancy allotment will be treated as equivalent to quitting the seat after joining, in so far as applicability of the penalty/liquidated damages clauses are concerned.
