
The Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala, has commenced the online stray vacancy allotment process for filling vacant seats in PG Medical Courses 2024 across Government Medical Colleges, the Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) Thiruvananthapuram, and Self-Financing Medical Colleges in the state.
This allotment will cover unallotted seats from the third phase, non-joining vacancies, and newly sanctioned additional seats. Candidates eligible as per the Kerala State Merit List can register their options through the official website www.cee.kerala.gov.in by logging into the ‘PG Medical 2024 Candidate Portal’ and selecting ‘Stray Vacancy - Option Registration’. Notably, fresh option registration is mandatory, and previous options will not be considered for the stray vacancy filling phase.
Allotment Schedule and Key Dates:
- Option Registration Deadline: 5 PM on 20 February 2025
- Phase I (Provisional Allotment): 21 February 2025
- Phase I (Final Allotment): 22 February 2025
- Phase I Joining Deadline: 23-25 February 2025 (until 3 PM)
- Phase II (Provisional Allotment): 25 February 2025
- Phase II (Final Allotment): 26 February 2025
- Phase II Joining Deadline: 27-28 February 2025 (until 4 PM)
Eligibility and Exclusions:
Candidates who have secured seats and are still continuing in their allotted seats from previous rounds (First, Second, or Third), those allotted in the third phase, or those who vacated their seats after 5 PM on 7 February 2025, will not be considered for the stray vacancy phase. Additionally, ineligible candidates as per the MCC’s AIQ Stray Vacancy list are also excluded.
Option Registration Fee Details:
- Government Medical Colleges (including RCC): Equal to the annual tuition fee
- Self-Financing Medical Colleges: ₹1,00,000
- SC/ST/OE Candidates (Eligible for Fee Concession): 50% of the above amounts
Candidates who previously paid the option registration fee in the third phase but were not allotted a seat need not pay again or will only need to pay the balance amount. The registration fee is refundable after counselling completion, but it will be forfeited as a penalty if the candidate does not join the allotted seat.
Penalties and Liquidated Damages:
- Candidates allotted a seat in the stray vacancy phase who fail to join will forfeit their registration fee and will be liable to pay liquidated damages as per Clause 10.1.19 (4) of the Prospectus.
- If a candidate vacates a seat joined during the stray vacancy phase or any previous allotment phase, they will also be liable for liquidated damages.
CEE Kerala advises candidates to carefully review the Prospectus for PG Medical Courses 2024 available on the official website and to regularly check for updates.
