Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB), established by the Department of Electronics, IT, BT and S&T, Government of Karnataka; BioTech Park, Electronic City, Phase-1, Bengaluru-560100, has invited applications for admission to M.Sc in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics.

The Program has a curriculum with strong emphasis on Computer Programming, Mathematics and Statistics, NGS Data Analysis, Systems Biology, Advanced Molecular and Cell Biology, Biochemistry and Immunology, Genome Editing Technologies, Chemoinformatics and Structural bioinformatics and Drug Discovery, supplemented by individual hands-on training and research projects.

Course is recognized and Degree Awarded by Bangalore University.

Eligibility: Applicant should hold a Bachelor's Degree in any branch of Science / Technology / Medicine (with degrees such as BSc, BE, BTech, BPharm, MBBS, BDS and BVSc) with 50% in Bachelor’s programme. The eligible subject areas are: Life sciences (Zoology, Botany, Genetics, Human biology, General Life sciences, Ecology, Environmental Biology), Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, any branch of Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Agriculture, Medicine, Dentistry, Horticulture, Forestry and Veterinary sciences. There is no age bar for applying. Applicants who have had a break in their education or have been working for a few years are also eligible. Those appearing for Final Examination / Awaiting results are eligible to apply.

Application: Applications can be submitted online by 3rd May 2021, through the through the ‘Apply Online’ link at the Program link at www.ibab.ac.in. Application fee is Rs.600/-.

Applicants will be short listed based on an entrance examination to be held on 16th May 2021. This will either be through a proctored online examination, or conducted at designated centres. The test will include general aptitude questions and will cover the subjects’ Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and the Life sciences. The details of the syllabus and pattern will be updated on the web page. Any change in the examination pattern will be intimated to the applicants.

The short listed candidates will be interviewed either in person at IBAB, or through a proctored online mode. Candidates will be intimated in due course about the date and mode of interview. Dates of Personal Interview will be announced later.

Course Commences on 19 July 2021.

A limited number of Scholarships will be Awarded based on the performance of the student in each semester, and the Financial need of the Student.
