The registration window for National Testing Agency’s Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2026 will close on February 26, 2026, at 11:50 PM, giving candidates the final opportunity to complete their applications.

The application window was reopened from February 23 to February 26 following requests from candidates who missed earlier deadlines. However, NTA has clarified that this extension is a one-time facility, and no correction window will be available after submitting the application form. Candidates must therefore enter personal, academic, and subject details carefully before final submission.

Students planning to seek admission to undergraduate programmes in participating central and other universities must complete registration through the official portal cuet.nta.nic.in. The application process requires candidates to register with a valid email ID and mobile number, fill in academic and course preferences, upload scanned documents such as photographs and signatures, and pay the application fee online.

Officials have advised candidates not to wait until the last moment to apply, as technical issues, server congestion, or payment failures may occur during peak hours. Applicants can also contact the NTA helpdesk at 011-40759000 or via email at cuet-ug@nta.ac.in for clarification.

The CUET UG 2026 examination is expected to be conducted between May 11 and May 31, 2026, in computer-based test (CBT) mode across India and selected international centres.

According to registration trends, more than 14.9 lakh candidates had applied by early February 2026. The exam allows candidates to choose subject combinations based on eligibility requirements of their desired universities and courses.

There is no age restriction for appearing in CUET UG 2026, but candidates must meet university-specific eligibility criteria. The test will cover 13 languages, 23 domain subjects, and a general aptitude section, with candidates allowed to attempt a maximum of five subjects.

Authorities have confirmed that the correction facility will not be reopened this time, making careful form submission essential. Students are advised to verify exam city preferences, subject mapping, and document uploads before finalising their applications.

CUET UG is one of India’s largest entrance examinations for undergraduate admissions and is conducted once annually for participating central universities and institutions. The 2026 exam cycle is expected to play a key role in university admissions across the country.
