Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University (RGNAU), having it headquarters at Fursatganj, District Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, has invited applications for Ph.D admission, 2025-26.

Ph.D Programs are available in the disciplines i (i) Aerospace Engineering & Aviation Sciences (ii) Electronics & Communication Engineering (Avionics) (iii) Management Studies (iv) Aviation Management.

Admissions will be offered in the following Categories: (i) Regular Assistantship (ii) Individual Fellowship (CSIR/UGC/DBT/INSPIRE/ICMR, etc.) (iii) Sponsored (iv) Project (v) University Employee (vi) Foreign National

Eligibility for admission is as follows:

Aerospace Engineering: M. Tech. or MS (Research) degree in Aerospace/ Aeronautical, Mechanical or allied disciplines with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a 10-point scale grading system with a valid GATE score OR B.E./ B.Tech. degree in Aerospace/Aeronautical, Mechanical, or allied disciplines are eligible to apply with a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a 10-point scale grading system with a valid GATE Score.

Electronics & Communication Engineering: M. Tech./ M.E./ MS in Electronics/Electronics & Communication /Electronics & Telecommunication/ Electronics & Instrumentation/ Instrumentation/ Instrumentation & Control/ Electronics & Electrical Engineering/ Computer Science Engineering/ Information Technology/ Mathematics & Computing/ Artificial Intelligence /Machine Learning or allied areas with a minimum of 55% marks inaggregate or equivalent grade on a 10-point scale with valid GATE Score or B. Tech / B.E. or equivalent degree in Electronics/ Electronics & Communication/Electronics & Tele-communication/ Electronics & Instrumentation/ Instrumentation/Instrumentation & Control/ Electronics & Electrical Engineering/ Computer Science Engineering/ Information Technology/ Mathematics and Computing/ Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning or allied areas with a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade on a 10-point scale with valid GATE score or M. Sc. in allied area above or allied areas with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade on a 10-point scale with valid GATE Score.

Management Studies: Master’s degree or equivalent in Management or in allied discipline/area with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a 10-point scale with NET Fellowship or with valid GATE score or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline or in allied discipline/area with a minimum of 75% marks or 7.5 CPI with valid GATE score.

All degrees should be recognized by the University Grants Commission/All India Council of Technical Education, or any Institution of National Importance.

A relaxation of 5% marks/equivalent grade is allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/ Differently Abled, EWS and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the UGC from time to time.

Selection: Admission will be based on Personal Interview/overall Academic Performance/ Written/Computer Test, as the case may be, of the candidates shortlisted by the department concerned. Candidates who have qualified for the JRF of NET/ SET with Fellowship shall be exempted from the Admission Test. The department may also consider exemption for the test for others as per the RGNAU Ordinance, 2020, if any. Weightage for different components will be as follows: (i) Overall Academic Performance- 20% (ii) Written/Computer Test - 50% (iii) Personal Interview - 30%

Application Fee is Rs. 500/-. There is no application fee for SC/ ST/ PwD/ Women.

Test/Personal Interview will be in the first week of December 2025 (tentative).

Reservation to the candidates of SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD shall be provided as per Government of India guidelines as amended from time to time. Institute Assistantship is available for GATE-qualified full-time candidates as per DST norms. It will be Rs. 37,000/- per month for the first 2 years and Rs. 42,000/- per month during the 3rd to 5th years.
