Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) has invited applications from the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) communities of India having specified degree in the selected disciplines of Engineering and Science for C-DAC Common Admission Test (C-CAT) for admission to High Performance Computing (HPC) PG Diploma in (i) System Administration (PG-DHPCSA) (ii) Application Development (PG-DHP CAP) March 2024 batch.
C-DAC is developing skilled and expert human resources in HPC through its Post Graduate Diploma Courses, as per the scheme of the National Supercomputing Mission (NSM) funded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India for Socially Disadvantaged Group (youth SC and ST).
The highlights of the Courses for which Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes communities of India can only apply include (i) Hands-on practical trainings from C-DAC HPC domain experts to make an impact in HPC industry (ii) Opportunity to work in the an ecosystem with C-DAC Lab with HPC Infrastructures (iii) Application and Course fee waiver (ii) Nominal Stipend of Rs.1500/- per month during the course period of 6 months (iii) Placement opportunities after successful training and certification of 900 hours.
However, one can avail NSM PG Diploma course benefits only once.
Eligibility: Applicant must be Graduate in Engineering (10+2+4 or 10+3+3 years) in IT / Computer Science / Electronics / Telecommunications / Electrical / Instrumentation or MSc / MS (10+2+3+2 years) in Computer Science, IT, Electronics or should have a Post Graduate Degree in Mathematics / Statistics or should have MCA or Post Graduate Degree in Physics / Computational Sciences/ Mathematics or allied areas from a recognised University. Applicants must have secured 55% marks or above in the qualifying degree.
Application: Online registration can be done at https://www.cdac.in/NSMTrainingSCST latest by January 03, 2024. Those who have appeared for their final examination of the qualifying degree in 2023 may also apply subject to submitting their proof of degree certificate to C-DAC by the date prescribed for regular C-CAT admission, which is June 30, 2024.
NSM C-DAC Common Admission Test will be on January 13-14, 2024 and results will be announced on January 25, 2024. Course will commence on March 05, 2024.
NSM C-DAC's Common Admission Test (C-CAT) will be conducted in computerised mode physically at C-DAC’s test centres on January 13 & 14, 2024. Candidates who clear the NSM C-CAT will only be considered for admission to C-DAC’s PG Diploma course in HPC in System Administration or PG Diploma in HPC Application Programming of upcoming batches on the basis of their NSM C-CAT ranks.
NSM C-CAT has two sections (Section A and B) of one-hour duration each with each section having 50 objective-type questions. Section A will have questions from English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Computer Fundamentals & Concepts of Programming while Section B will have questions from C Programming, Data Structures, Object Oriented Programming Concepts using C++, Operating Systems & Networking, Basics of Big Data & Artificial Intelligence.
