Mumbai: The Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition, an exclusive electric SUV inspired by the iconic Dark Knight, has sold out all 999 units within just 135 seconds of the booking launch, setting an unprecedented record in India’s electric vehicle market.
Originally planned to be limited to 300 units, Mahindra expanded production to 999 due to overwhelming fan enthusiasm and customer demand. Priced at Rs 27.79 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India), the BE 6 Batman Edition blends cutting-edge EV technology with bespoke Batman-themed design elements.
The special edition features a striking satin black exterior accented with gold-painted suspension springs and brake callipers, alongside prominent Batman logos on the front doors, fenders, hubcaps, and panoramic roof glass. Inside, the SUV carries a luxurious black-and-gold interior theme with Batman branding embroidered on the seats and dashboard, matched by signature lighting including a Bat-symbol projection.
Under the hood, the BE 6 Batman Edition is powered by a 79kWh battery with a rear-wheel-drive motor delivering 286 horsepower and a claimed ARAI range of 682 km per charge, making it one of the most powerful electric SUVs in its segment.
Bookings commenced on August 23, with deliveries scheduled to begin on September 20, International Batman Day. This release marks Mahindra's first collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, celebrating both automotive innovation and pop culture fandom.
Industry experts note that this rapid sell-out underscores the growing interest in themed electric vehicles and Mahindra’s rising prominence in India’s EV market.
