Renault has introduced the all-new Renault Duster 2026 in India, marking the return of one of its most recognisable SUVs with a comprehensive redesign, updated technology and enhanced safety features.

The new-generation Duster is priced from ₹10.49 lakh (ex-showroom), with an introductory R Pass offer bringing the starting price down to ₹10.29 lakh. Deliveries of the turbo-petrol variants are scheduled to begin in April 2026, while the strong hybrid E-Tech 160 version will arrive later in the year around Diwali.

Platform and design overhaul

Built on the Renault Group Modular Platform (RGMP), the SUV has been engineered to meet stringent safety benchmarks and withstand demanding driving conditions. While it retains its rugged character, the exterior adopts a more contemporary look.

The front features a bold, upright stance with a wide grille prominently displaying the Duster name. Slim LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lights sit at the edges, while sculpted bonnet lines add definition. The bumper gets a robust design with a silver skid-plate element.

From the side, the SUV maintains a boxy silhouette with squared wheel arches, black cladding and roof rails, reinforcing its off-road appeal. At the rear, angular LED tail-lamps are connected by a horizontal light bar, with a near-vertical tailgate and a spoiler-mounted brake light completing the look.

The model rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and is offered in six colour options, including Mountain Jade Green, River Blue and Sunset Red.

Premium, tech-heavy cabin

Inside, the Duster adopts a driver-centric layout inspired by aviation design, featuring a layered dashboard and improved material quality. The cabin uses soft-touch finishes, metallic accents and leatherette upholstery for a more premium feel.

A dual-screen setup dominates the dashboard, comprising a 10.1-inch infotainment system with Google integration and a 10.25-inch digital driver display. The SUV also offers ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof and ventilated, power-adjustable front seats.

Practical elements such as multiple storage spaces, a central armrest and physical toggle controls remain part of the layout, balancing usability with modern design.

Features and connectivity

The SUV comes equipped with over 60 connected features, including integration with Google Assistant and personalised drive profiles. It also supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside a six-speaker Arkamys sound system.

Other convenience features include dual-zone climate control, a powered tailgate, wireless charging, keyless entry and push-button start. Multi-sense drive modes – Eco, Comfort and Perso – allow drivers to customise performance settings.

Safety and driver assistance

Safety remains a key focus, with the Duster offering six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control and ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard.

Advanced features include a 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers and disc brakes on all wheels. The SUV is also equipped with Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), providing semi-autonomous driving support through multiple assist functions.

Bookings and availability

Pre-bookings for the Duster opened earlier this year at ₹21,000 under the R Pass programme, which includes priority delivery, introductory pricing benefits and exclusive experiences. The hybrid E-Tech 160 variant has already been fully booked for the year.

While petrol variants will reach customers from April, deliveries of the hybrid model are expected to begin later, around November.

Competition in the segment

The new Duster enters a highly competitive mid-size SUV segment in India. Key rivals include the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and Honda Elevate.

With its updated design, expanded feature list and hybrid offering, Renault is positioning the Duster as a strong contender in a segment dominated by established players.
