BMW Motorrad introduced the much-anticipated F 450 GS at EICMA 2025 in Milan, Italy, marking the company’s latest entry in the mid-capacity adventure segment. Shortly after its global debut, reports from dealerships indicate that unofficial bookings for the bike are already underway across India, with deposits averaging around ₹20,000, depending on location and dealer policy.

Although pricing and official launch details have not been announced, industry insiders suggest the motorcycle could arrive in India by early 2026.

Powering the BMW F 450 GS is a newly developed 450cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine, co-engineered with TVS Motor Company. The engine produces 48 PS of power and 43 Nm of torque, paired with Quickshifter Pro for smoother gear transitions.

In terms of design, the production-ready F 450 GS features sharp styling elements, including a sculpted fuel tank, angular side fairings, and a beak-like front end reminiscent of BMW’s larger R 1300 GS. The headlamp design stands out with its X-shaped LED DRLs, while the slim tail section enhances the bike’s adventure-oriented stance.

BMW stated that the model weighs 175 kg, though it did not clarify whether this figure represents kerb or dry weight. Given that the smaller G 310 GS already matches this number in kerb weight, it is likely that the figure refers to the dry configuration.

The motorcycle rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels and employs a 43mm USD fork with adjustable preload and rebound damping at the front, complemented by a rear monoshock.

Feature highlights include a TFT display with smartphone connectivity, heated grips, adjustable levers, and an Easy Ride clutch system. The F 450 GS will be available in two colours—Cosmic Black and Racing Red.

The BMW F 450 GS expands the brand’s GS lineup, targeting riders who want a lighter, more accessible adventure bike without compromising on capability. It sits below the F 800 GS and R 1300 GS, combining performance with practicality for both on-road touring and light off-roading.

As per multiple sources, the India launch will coincide with the company’s growing partnership with TVS, which also co-develops the G 310 series at BMW’s Hosur facility. This collaboration aims to expand BMW’s footprint in India’s mid-size motorcycle market, which has seen strong growth over recent years.

The F 450 GS is expected to compete with models like the KTM 390 Adventure, Triumph Scrambler 400 X, and Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, once launched in India.
