India's hopes for another strong shooting campaign at the Asian Games 2026 received a boost as the National Rifle Association of India announced a 30-member squad featuring Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker in two events.

Manu, one of India's biggest shooting stars, will compete in both the women's 10m air pistol and 25m pistol categories. Despite finishing seventh in the latest 10m air pistol trials, NRAI officials backed her experience and ability to deliver under pressure on major international stages.

The squad also includes former world champion Rudrankksh Patil, Esha Singh and Vidarsa K Vinod in multiple events. In a notable decision, Anish Bhanwala will be India's sole representative in the men's 25m rapid-fire pistol event, with NRAI choosing not to field a full team unless medal prospects were strong.

The Asian Games will take place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 19 to October 4, with India aiming to build on its successful shooting performance from Hangzhou 2023.
