UGC-NET 2026 final keys for 84 subjects out: How to check and what’s next

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the final answer keys for the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) June 2026 today, Friday, August 28. It is a major milestone for thousands of teaching and research aspirants across India. The exam determines who is eligible to become an assistant professor or receive a junior research fellowship in Indian colleges. However, the announcement brings a major twist for many. While most candidates can now view their final keys, those who took English, Commerce, and Sociology in June are facing rescheduled exams next month.
How to check your final answer key
Checking your scores on the official portal is a simple, three-step process. First, candidates must visit the official UGC-NET website. Once there, log in to the registration portal by entering your unique application number and password. After logging in, you will find a dedicated button on your home page to view the final answer key. Clicking this button will display the final answers for your subject. Candidates are highly encouraged to visit the official portal regularly for any further updates, and can reach out to the NTA help desk for clarifications.
Re-examinations scheduled for three subjects
If you appeared for English, Commerce, or Sociology, your final keys have not been released today because your exams are being conducted afresh. An expert panel reviewed the original June question papers and found multiple factual, translation, typographical, and language errors. To ensure fairness, the NTA will hold fresh examinations for these three subjects on September 9 and 10. Candidates affected by this decision will not have to pay any extra fees to sit these new papers. This schedule follows an earlier notice issued on August 16, which originally flagged the errors and set the groundwork for the fresh September tests.
