Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi 17 series later this month, featuring the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and the flagship Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. One of the key highlights is a secondary display integrated around the rear camera module. The back panel design closely resembles that of the latest Apple iPhone 17, but instead of a plain surface, Xiaomi has added a functional display. Videos circulating on social media showcase a vibrant secondary display that allows users to customise it with features such as a clock, date, timer, or animated themes.

Performance and Software

Reports suggest that the Xiaomi 17 Pro will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with 16GB of RAM and running Android 16-based HyperOS 3 out of the box.

The Xiaomi 17 Pro is also likely to feature a Leica-backed triple rear camera setup, including a 50MP primary sensor (f/1.67), a 50MP telephoto lens (f/3.0) with up to 5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide sensor. On the front, users can expect a 6.3-inch 120Hz LTPO display with 1.1mm ultra-thin bezels and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.

The handset is expected to have a 6,300mAh battery supporting 100W wired and wireless charging. With an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance, Xiaomi is positioning the 17 Pro as a feature-rich flagship with durability to match.

According to reports, Xiaomi 17 Pro is expected to cost around Rs. 69,999 for the base variant in India. However, an official confirmation is yet to come.
