Xiaomi 17 series confirmed for India, but reports suggest launch might be delayed until 2026

Xiaomi has effectively confirmed that its latest flagship lineup, the Xiaomi 17 series, will be making its way to India soon. Earlier this month, the company launched the Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max models in China, and these variants are now expected to arrive in the Indian market in the coming months.
However, a fresh report suggests that the Xiaomi 17 India launch may not happen in 2025. Instead, the devices are expected to arrive in early 2026, delaying the Xiaomi 17 India availability for several more months.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 powers the flagship
The Xiaomi 17 is one of the first smartphones to feature Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset — a high-performance processor expected to power many upcoming flagship devices from other major brands over the next year.
With Xiaomi confirming the Xiaomi 17 series India release, the brand gains an early lead against its competitors, especially as the phones are already available in China.
Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max India launch plans
The biggest question surrounding the Xiaomi 17 series India release is whether the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max India variants will make their way to Indian shores.
Initial reports indicate that the 17 Pro models might remain exclusive to the Chinese market for now. However, Xiaomi could introduce another flagship variant (Xiaomi 17 Ultra) tailored for the global audience at a later date.
Xiaomi 17 India specifications and expected price
The Xiaomi 17 specifications include a 6.3-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 16GB RAM, and 1TB internal storage, paired with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The phone runs on HyperOS 3, based on Android 16.
Camera enthusiasts will find a 50MP triple camera setup with Leica-tuned lenses, while the device is backed by a massive 7,000mAh battery supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.
The Xiaomi 17 India price is expected to start around ₹75,000, though it could cross the ₹80,000 mark upon launch.
