Xiaomi has officially announced that its Xiaomi 15 series will launch in India on March 11. The series features the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, which made its global debut at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona. While the China-exclusive line-up includes standard, Pro, and Ultra variants, only the standard and Ultra models were unveiled globally, indicating that the Xiaomi 15 Pro may remain exclusive to China.

Xiaomi announced the launch on social media, calling the Xiaomi 15 series "mastery in your hands." In a tweet, the company wrote, “Not just a smartphone. Not just a camera. #Xiaomi15Series is mastery in your hands. Built for those who understand the craft, not just the clicks. This. Is. It. And no, it's not for everyone.”

The Xiaomi 15 series, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, comes with a Leica-engineered camera system. The devices run on Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0 and come with various AI-driven features.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi unveiled its revolutionising Modular Optical System with Light Fusion X, featuring a custom M4/3 sensor for enhanced smartphone imaging, at MWC 2025. 

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra boasts a 6.73-inch AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 3200 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate. It supports up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The smartphone features a quad-camera setup, including a 50MP primary sensor (Sony LYT-900), a 50MP ultra-wide lens (Samsung JN5), a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom (Sony IMX858), and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 4.3x optical zoom (Samsung HP9). For selfies, it has a 32MP front camera. The device is powered by a 5410mAh battery, supporting 90W wired and 80W wireless charging.

The Xiaomi 15, which was first launched in China in October 2024, is also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and features a Leica-optimised camera system. It has a 6.36-inch micro-curved OLED LTPO display with a 1.5K resolution, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and peak brightness of 3200 nits. The rear camera setup consists of a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The front camera is a 32MP sensor. The device is backed by a 5240mAh battery, supporting 90W wired and 50W wireless charging.
