Expect a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, stunning 6.9-inch 144Hz AMOLED display, and significant camera upgrades

New Delhi: Samsung's highly anticipated Galaxy S26 Ultra is taking shape through a series of significant leaks, painting a clear picture of its expected specifications and key upgrades. While an official unveiling isn't anticipated until early 2026, the details suggest a formidable flagship designed to push boundaries in performance and mobile photography.
At its core, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is poised to leverage the power of the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. This next-generation processor is expected to deliver substantial performance enhancements, crucial for demanding applications, AI capabilities, and intensive gaming. The device will run on Android 15 with Samsung's customised One UI 8, ensuring access to the newest software innovations.
Visuals are set to be a major draw, with a stunning 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that is rumoured to boast an ultra-smooth 144Hz refresh rate and potentially reach an astonishing 3,000 nits of peak brightness for exceptional outdoor visibility and vibrant HDR content. Design-wise, while largely retaining its premium aesthetic, subtle refinements are expected, including even slimmer bezels for a more immersive edge-to-edge experience and a cleaner, more integrated rear camera layout. A larger vapour chamber cooling system is also anticipated to ensure sustained peak performance.
The camera system is where the S26 Ultra is rumoured to receive some of its most impactful upgrades. While retaining the impressive 200MP ISOCELL HP2 primary sensor, it's expected to feature a new lens for enhanced clarity and low-light performance. Other notable camera improvements include:
- An upgraded 50MP ultra-wide lens.
- A powerful 50MP periscope lens offering 5x optical zoom.
- A significant jump in the 3x telephoto lens, moving from 10MP to a sharper 12MP sensor.
- A new laser autofocus system for faster focusing and the next-gen ProVisual Engine for superior image processing.
- A refreshed 50MP front camera for improved selfies and video calls.
The device is expected to pack a robust 5000 mAh battery with 45W fast charging support.
