Vivo has confirmed that its V80 smartphone will launch in India on October 6. The upcoming handset will succeed the Vivo V70, which was launched in the country earlier this year, and will bring several hardware upgrades, including a 144Hz OLED display, Zeiss-branded cameras and a large 7,200mAh battery.

The Vivo V80 will be launched at 12pm on October 6 and will be available in Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue and Stellar Black colourways. Following the launch, the smartphone will be sold through Vivo India's website, Amazon, Flipkart and offline retail outlets across the country.

Vivo has already revealed several specifications of the V80 ahead of its India debut through an Amazon microsite.

Vivo V80 display and design

The Vivo V80 will feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel supports 1.07 billion colours and offers a local peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits. Vivo says the display will have slim 1.25mm bezels.

Vivo V80 camera specifications

Photography will be one of the key highlights of the Vivo V80, with the phone featuring a Zeiss-branded camera system.

The rear setup will include a 50-megapixel primary camera with a 1/1.56-inch Sony LYTIA 700V sensor and optical image stabilisation (OIS). It will be accompanied by a 50-megapixel Night Telephoto camera using a 1/1.95-inch Sony IMX882 sensor.

The telephoto camera will support OIS, 3x optical zoom and up to 100x zoom. The camera system will also include a Zeiss wide-angle camera.

For selfies and group photographs, the Vivo V80 will feature a 50-megapixel Group Selfie camera with a 92-degree field of view and autofocus. The phone will support 4K Cinematic Video recording as well as 4K video recording at 60fps.

Vivo V80 AI camera features

Vivo is also highlighting a range of AI-powered imaging tools on the V80. The smartphone will offer more than 30 AI creative features, along with a Live Sticker Collage option.

The phone will also introduce AI Diwali Portrait 2.0, which is designed to enhance festive portraits by improving aspects such as lighting and skin tones.

Vivo V80 software

The Vivo V80 will be the first smartphone in the company's V-Series lineup to ship with Android 17-based OriginOS 7.

This will make the software experience another key change over the previous-generation model.

Vivo V80 battery and charging

The handset will pack a 7,200mAh battery, which Vivo says is the largest battery ever offered on a V-Series smartphone.

According to the company, the battery can provide up to 14 hours of continuous navigation and up to 39.5 hours of local video playback. The phone will support 90W FlashCharge fast charging.

Vivo V80 chipset and performance

Vivo has not yet officially revealed the processor powering the V80. However, the smartphone was recently spotted on Geekbench, offering a possible indication of its chipset and performance.

The listing points to a QTI SM7750 chipset, which corresponds to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC. The same processor also powers the Vivo V70.

In Geekbench 7.1.0 for Android AArch64 testing, the Vivo V80 reportedly scored 1,070 points in the single-core test and 3,552 points in the multi-core test.

More details, including the Vivo V80's India price, will be announced at the October 6 launch.
