Barely weeks after the launch of Apple’s new iPhone devices, users have begun to voice complaints about battery life issues in some iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models, according to MacRumors.
Reports suggest that most complaints related to battery drain are associated with the iOS 18 updates.
“A user noted, ‘The 16 Pro has terrible standby battery life while sleeping (not connected to my Apple Watch), and as shown in the graph, it runs background activities excessively,’” MacRumors quoted.
The iPhone 16 features a 3,561mAh battery, marking a 6.3 per cent increase in capacity compared to the previous model. While users of older iPhone models have reported battery drain after upgrading to iOS 18, this is the first time complaints have surfaced from iPhone 16 users.
Many are reporting significant battery drain during standby mode when the iPhone isn’t in use, suggesting that background activities may be causing problems for some.
iOS 18.0.1
The iOS 18.0.1 update includes important bug fixes and security enhancements for iPhone. It addresses issues such as temporary unresponsiveness of the touch screen in certain situations on iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models. Additionally, it fixes a problem where the camera may freeze when recording macro mode video in 4K with HDR turned off on iPhone 16 Pro models. Users may also experience unexpected quits of the Messages app when replying to messages using a shared Apple Watch face. Furthermore, performance may be affected due to a memory allocation issue on some iPhone models.
